Can VR experience cause motion sickness or other discomforts?
While we can’t guarantee it 100%, our technology allows for completely free movement in VR on our 100 m2 arenas, thus eliminating feelings of motion sickness or discomfort.
Who can and can’t play?
Players under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be denied entry without refund or credit.
Participants must be capable of walking unassisted for one hour and using both hands.
For safety reasons, individuals with the following impairments or medical conditions cannot participate:
- Epilepsy or similar seizure disorders
- Deafness or severe hearing loss
- Broken leg or arm
- Wheelchair users
Our experiences are not recommended for individuals with the following impairments or medical conditions:
- Heart conditions
- Pregnant
How do people avoid hitting each other or a wall?
Our real-time motion capture technology lets everyone see each other and their movements, similar to how it works in movies and games. Clear boundaries ensure you stay safe within the game area if you follow the in-game instructions.
Booking & Pricing
How many people can play together?
Maximum 6 people per game arena. For groups larger than 6, you can book additional game arenas for the same time. We stagger start times for gearing up but aim to begin your experiences as closely together as we can!
How do i book for a large group?
Each booking can accommodate up to 6 people. For 7 or more, make multiple bookings for similar times and we’ll try to start your groups together.

Can you come play the games without booking in advance?
It’s always best to book in advance to secure your time slot, but we welcome walk-ins if space is available. If we’re full when you arrive, we’ll schedule you for the next open time slot.
What is the cancellation, reschedule and refund policy?
All purchases are all non-refundable.
- More than 48 hours in advance of your booking: booking can be changed or rescheduled based on availability. Booking can be changed or rescheduled only once.
- Less than 48 hours in advance of your booking: No changes or reschedules can be made to your booking.
- Arriving more than 5 minutes late can result in cancellation of your booking with no refund
How your “pay with friends” payment booking option work?
If you want to split the cost of your booking with your friends, you will be able to choose how many player(s) you would like to pay for. Please note that at least one player’s session must be paid to create your reservation and block your game slot.
After your initial payment, you will be able to share the payment page with your friends using email, message, whatsapp or simply by copying the page link.
To finalize your booking, please ensure all players included in a ‘pay with friend’ reservation are confirmed NO LATER THAN 24 HOURS BEFORE the scheduled time. Failure to do so, may result in the cancellation of your reservation at our discretion.
The VR experience
How long is the experience?
Please plan for a total of approx. 1 hour for your THE GATE VR experience, as follow:
- At least 15 minutes to ensure you have enough time to check you in. We cannot start until your whole party is present.
- Then, 40-minute VR session with a 10-minute briefing and equipment setup
- Another 5-10 minutes post experience to check your scores, and debrief with your friends
How much does the experience cost?
Our pricing changes depending on whether it’s peak or off-peak times. You can view the cost of an experience by visiting www.thegatevr.io, where you’ll choose an experience, select the number of participants, and pick a date and time slot.
Do you have a minimum age requirement?
We require all players to be 10+ years old to play. We recommend anyone between 10-12 years old to play with a supervising adult.
Players must be at least 120cm.
Please note that all our “Kid-friendly Game(s)” are clearly indicated in our booking page.
What should i wear?
Our experiences are active. We recommend you wear light, comfortable clothes and appropriate footwear (ie. no high heels allowed on our game arenas).
Will there be other guests in the experience with us?
In the check out process, you will have the option to privatize your game arena for a supplement cost. Paying for this option will guarantee you to use the game arena exclusively.
I don’t know which game i want to play. Can you please help me?
Of course! Our staff will help choose the right game for you and your friends. You can just choose any game during your booking process, and if all players are ok, we can change the game selection when you arrive.
